 Share-A-Fare

 

Effective August 1, 2005, all Share-A-Fare clients will be required to show the Yellow Cab driver their METRO Transit Identification Card in order to use the Share-A-Fare Coupons.

Share-A-Fare provides lower cost taxi fares for older adults and persons with disabilities. Curb-to-curb service using an area taxi company is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Share-A-Fare coupon books must be purchased in the city where the resident lives.

Participating communities and METRO Transit pay 40% of the cost and the participant pays 60%.

To participate in Share-A-Fare and purchase coupon books, you must first complete an application and return it to METRO Transit.

Once you have been notified by mail of your eligibility, you must also obtain a METRO Transit Photo ID and Punch Card. You may either mail $1.00 and a driver’s license size photo to METRO Transit OR have your picture taken at the Downtown Transit Center, located at:

Oklahoma City, OK 73102.

You must present your METRO Transit ID and Punch Card when purchasing coupon books. Participants must be 60 or older or disabled, verified with a doctor certification and resident of a participating municipality.

Only Oklahoma City residents may order coupon books by mail. Include your name and address, Punch Card, return postage (two stamps for 1-3 books or three stamps for 4-6 books) and check or money order payable to:

Please allow 5-10 days for delivery. METRO Transit is not responsible for lost or stolen Share-A-Fare coupons, ID Cards or Punch Cards. Replacement costs is $5.00 for a lost or stolen ID Card or $10.00 for a lost or stolen Punch Card.
