What services do you provide for people with disabilities?

Services include half-price fares on city buses, discounts on taxi fares and METRO-Lift accessible transportation.

NOTE: Some people may be eligible for both older adult services and services for persons with disabilities.

How do I qualify for these services?

The qualifications differ among the services. When you contact Special Services, our staff will ask you a few questions and help you decide which service or services might be helpful to you and whether you qualify for those services. Most services also require that you complete and submit an application for approval. Some services require additional documentation.

Who can ride the regular city buses for a reduced fare?

Anyone who has a current METRO Transit photo ID card, or Medicare card. Those eligible are혻persons age 60+ and persons with documented disabilities.

What is Share-A-Fare?

Share-A-Fare offers a 40% discount on taxi rides to many seniors and people with disabilities. When your application is approved, and you have received your METRO Transit photo ID card and Share-A-Fare punch card, you may purchase discounted coupons and pay the taxi driver with the coupons.

After I receive my Share-A-Fare ID Card and Punch Card, how do I buy the Share-A-Fare discount taxi coupons?

Eligible residents of Oklahoma City may order the coupons by mail or purchase at the downtown transit center. Residents of other participating cities may purchase coupons from their cities?봴sually from an office in the city hall.

What is METRO Lift and who can use it?

METRO Lift is curb-to-curb transportation within the Oklahoma City area for people whose disabilities prevent them from using the regular METRO Transit bus system. Eligibility must be certified by METRO Transit. Travel must be within a service area.

Is METRO Lift for medical appointments only?

Qualified customers may use METRO Lift for any trip purpose.

Is there a way for older adults who do not use METRO Lift to get to medical appointments?

Yes there is. First, we ask that you contact and register with RSVP Provide-A-Ride, by calling 605-3106. Most of the time RSVP will be able to assist you. If you cannot schedule your trip with RSVP, call METRO Transit Senior Services at 297-2583. We will make every effort to schedule transportation for your medical appointment.

How much does it cost to use METRO Transit Special Services?

All services are either low-cost or no cost and fares vary among the services.

There is no fare for certain senior programs. Instead of a fare, a donation is requested but not required.
