Getting On the Bus
METRO Transit passes are available at most area Buy For Less grocery stores and at the downtown transit center.
METRO Transit schedules and transit guides are available at all public libraries and at downtown transit center offices.
Please have your exact fare ready before boarding. A friendly reminder – any attempt to ride without paying is a punishable crime.
When the bus stops, allow passengers on the bus to exit first.
Riding the Bus
Please allow seniors and persons with disabilities to use the seats designated for them. It’s the decent thing to do, and it’s the law.
No smoking, eating or drinking on any METRO Transit vehicle or in any METRO Transit station. Again, it’s the law.
Bringing your own music? Don’t forget your headphones. If we can hear you, you’re too loud.
Hey, we run a first-class operation. No shoes, no shirt, no service!
Firearms are prohibited on or in any METRO Transit vehicle or property.
Riding the Bus with Animals
Passengers with disabilities may ride with their trained service animal. Service animals must be leashed and kept on the floor and out of the aisles as much as possible, and must be under the control of their owners at all times.
METRO Transit allows pets to be brought aboard at no additional charge. The only requirement is that the pet must be secured in a container that is specifically manufactured for transport of a pet.
Animals at-large or on a leash or harness (other than service dogs) are not allowed.
For parents
Hold a small child's hand at all times.
Make sure your child gets on and off the bus with you. Help each child step on and off the bus safely.
If you have a stroller, take your child out of the stroller, fold the stroller, and if possible, stow the stroller out of the way.
Make sure that your child has no dangling clothing, untied shoelaces or unbuckled shoes.
Devise a plan ahead of time with your children on what to do in case you get separated. If you do get separated, tell a METRO employee. METRO Transit staff are all trained to help you.
Do not allow your child to sit on bus steps or in the aisle.
Do not allow your child to play or run in the transit center or on the bus.
